Such a beautiful lawn! These photos were taken just before I moved into the house in May 2010. If I was to get some crops planted that year some urgent action was needed to kill the lawn!

Not wanting to use weed killer, this was the most practical solution!

Within a few weeks the grass had died and allowed me to carve out some beds

And a few months later I had my first crops!

During the winter of 2010/2011 I dug up all the previous seasons crops and dug in the old lawn in order to create 9 raised beds
